The Importance of Consistency

It’s nice for my kids and my dog that I’m such a consistent rule enforcer.

After all, experts say that consistency and boundaries are essential for helping kids and animals feel secure and safe.

For example, my dog isn’t allowed on our couch.

Nope.

Not ever.

FYI, he looked guilty as heck.  But he did not budge.

The punk.

  1. Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m laughing so hard right now (well, as hard as my pregnant, jetlagged belly will allow me to at least 😉 ) which is a good thing, because I really needed a laugh after having three kids waking up at 5 am two mornings in a row… That’ll teach us to drag ’em all the way across the big water I guess…

ps: our cat does the same thing, except she isn’t allowed on the tables (guess what’s the first she does when we leave the room? 😉 I wonder what she’s up to now that she has the house almost to herself… Oh, I’m worried now!)
