If you’re new here, welcome! You can always begin reading with readers’ favorite posts or read on for the answers to questions I’m frequently asked.
Question: Is your life as crazy as you say?
Question: Is your house as messy as you say?
Answer: That wasn’t really a question.
Question: When are you going to write a book already?
Answer: I’m working on it. I want it to be really, really, ridiculously good, though, so it may take a while. Stay tuned.
Question: Anything I can do to help with the book?
Answer: Absolutely! Without readers, there are no authors; you are an integral part of the process, and what you do matters.
First, please do join my email list. This will keep you up to date on the latest, AND you’ll receive content exclusive to email. Scroll to the bottom of this page for details.
Second, an awesome thing you can do to help any writer is share her work through social media and word of mouth. Click “like” with abandon. Leave comments on the blog. Join in her community (see email note above). Believe it or not, none of these are to boost the writer’s ego (although your encouragement goes incredibly far to energize us!) … instead, all of these help a publisher determine whether or not a writer’s a good risk.
Question: You have FIVE KIDS; where in the world do you find time to write?
Answer: Writing is my release and my relief. Also, it’s a very, very good excuse not to clean my toilet. I steal time from dusting, doing laundry, cleaning out my fridge and putting crap away. Which explains why our house is a mess and why I never, ever let people take their shoes off when they visit.
Question: Can I advertise on your site?
Answer: Yep! Square ads in the right sidebar, directly below my personal information and above Google ads, are $50/month — less with a 3-, 6-, or 12-month ad subscription. Contact me at Beth@BethWoolsey.com with “I Want to Advertise with You” in the subject line, and we’ll discuss. Longer ads are also available; prices on request.
Question: Can I guest post on your site?
Answer: I do not accept unsolicited guest posts. It’s not because I’m trying to be a Meany McMeanpants or that I don’t care about collaborating. It’s because I focus on writing original content. Unhelpful, non-expert, original content.
Question: Can you come speak at my event or workshop or church or fundraiser or birthday party?
Answer: Totally. I mean, I’ve never spoken at a birthday party before, and I think having a Birthday Party Speaker would make it weird, but I’m super into weird, so let’s do it!
Some of my favorite topics include Being a Mom, Finding a Village, Authentic Faith, Mental Health, Parenting and Imperfection, Parenting Kids With Special Needs, Adoption, Body Image, Building Community, Marriage, How to Tell Your Story Deliberately, and Writing.
For speaking fees and scheduling, you can contact me at Beth@BethWoolsey.com. Speaking of which…
Question: Can I email you?
Answer: For sure! You can email me at Beth@BethWoolsey.com. I LOVE getting emails, and I read every one. I’m occasionally able to answer them, even, but not all the time, because sometimes my children expect me to feed them.
